Cox Farms

As a child my parents took me and my sisters here all the time during the Halloween season. I can honestly say as a kid the only thing i remember is an awesome swing rope, free cider and apples. Now taking my son for his second time, this place is great. Weekend prices are a bit steep ($15) but its worth it for as much entertainment it provides for your little one. I believe kids only under 1 are actually free and there is no kid price. This includes a hay ride and a free small pumpkin at the end.
We spent several hours here, with the different animals they have to offer buddha was able to see (and smell) what barn yard animals look like in person. As you can imagine much scarier in person than lets say a kids book. He eventually warmed up and i'm glad, its comferting to know that he has some sense of fear ( coming from a kid who will jump off a edge with out knowing whats below him.)
The hayride is great for older kids, i dont think he knew really what to expect from this but he did enjoy the horses that come up to the wagon and of course the cut outs of cartoon characters that he recognizes.

Buddha LOVES and i mean LOVES apples, so when we got to the part where they have free apples he was all over that. Though be sure to bring wipes, there are lots of bees that love that sweet juice that tends to run down kids faces and necks which can ruin your day if your consistantly trying to swat away the pesky bugs.

There are different sections for toddlers as well as older kids. Its great because it seemed that no matter the size of the slides (which they have plenty of) every age enjoyed it. There are tons of play areas as well as a wooden choo choo train which buddha seemed to be hooked on for a good hour.

I know he wont remember this now but I do hope as time passes he remembers it, its a great family activity as well as a great opportunity to take some awesome pics, just hope that you have another adult or older kid with you to get a few of your self in there.

Cant wait for the pumpkin carving to begin next weeked!

October month

Not much is happening event wise this month at least that i've been able to find. There is one consignment sale happening this weekend ( 10/8 & 9).  I have not attended to this specific one before but looking at the website it seems like its a huge event. Great idea for those looking for early christmas gifts to store away or birthdays that are coming up. Also perfect for those who weren't prepared for this crazy weather yet (such as my self) and may need a few extra pair of pants and long sleve shirts for their little ones.

My family is expecting our second child in March 2012, so this month especially with the colder weather sneaking up on us is the perfect time for me to clean out the house to make some extra room as well as finishing painting rooms that were never completed when we first moved in.
Also we seem to have a mice infestation.... one of the many perks of having neighbors wall to wall with you. Any suggestions on how to get rid of them is greatly appreciated since we've seemed to have tried everything but tear down the walls to find the nest.
